Pop Outerwear.com. Pop Outerwear is a small company in San Francisco that makes great quality fleece jackets and sweaters in the United States. The company, as their story goes, was started by two nerds, Joanne and Tim Medvitz in 2009. They were “searching for a way to bridge their passion for the outdoors and love for the city.”

They start with technical fabrics, all made in the Bay Area, and then create a classic appearing, figure flattering piece of apparel. Most often they use a Polartec powder dry fabric with moisture-wicking properties into all their fleece jackets. Even their button down shirts use moisture-wicking technology. Pop Outerwear, also, offers a shirt, sweater or a hoodie made out of Merino wool.

Pop Outerwear clearly fits the downtown scene and performs well even in the mountains. Pop Outerwear is a great fit for San Francisco and its never too warm climate. I had seen Pop Outerwear at Fort Mason at the SF Made Holiday Gift Fair. Joanne Medvitz told me about the Pop Outerwear story. They, like everybody else at the time, was having their outerware made in China in 2009. And, even though, she spoke Chinese and made multiple trips to the factory, the factory still could not do the job to their specifications, so they brought everything back to the United States. For those who think quality matters, I would recommend Pop Outerwear.
