President Obama Signs Executive Order Promoting Industrial Energy Efficiency | The White House. On August 30, 2012, President Obama signed an executive order to benefit American manufacturing by helping out in energy costs and making American companies even more competitive.
By signing the executive order, the President has bypassed the gridlock of Congress which has all but shut down for the year. The President, today, on August 31, 2012, was speaking to the troops at Fort Bliss, Iraq, two years after his visit there that marked the end of the combat mission (in Iraq). That is the first step in promoting American manufacturing.
